The Touching BACE: BYOP (Bring your own picnic), bake sale, and more is coming together.
We’re eager to see lots of families come out, visit, play, and connect with BACE and each other. We love the community we are a part of and want to celebrate spring and all the progress that’s being made to ensure that Edmonton is breastfeeding friendly!
We recently received a small grant from the Alberta Human Rights Commission to help with cost of our Breastfeeding Friendly project. We will be using the funds raised from this event to cover the rest of the costs.
We are inviting families to bring a baked good and used books in good condition to donate to BACE. We’ll be selling the baked goods on site as well as the books for a buck a book! Finally, we will be have some great door prizes from some great local businesses (more details to come!). All proceeds from the sale of baked goods and books will go towards BACE’s breastfeeding friendly project working on breastfeeding in public advocacy.
That’s not all, BACE is selling breastfeeding t-shirts to fundraise (http://www.garagerockapparel.com/?post_type=product&s=bace). We want to see what local artists have got when it comes to breastfeeding art. We are asking artists of all levels to submit their images for our t-shirt art contest. The images will be shared on our facebook page during the contest. Our members will vote and the contest winner will be unveiled at the picnic! Details to come on the contest very soon, start planning your design and check back in on the BACE facebook group for more.
